John M. Kovel, CFP®
Sr. Consultant, Intellectual Capital, National Planning Institute
I am a Senior Consultant, Intellectual Capital for Lincoln’s National Planning Institute (NPI). I grew up in Jamestown, NY and attended the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration/Economics. I began my career with Lincoln in July of 1999 in our Cleveland, OH field office until 2006 and was promoted to our Northern Virginia field office from 2007 – 2013, after which I relocated to our Pittsburgh, PA field office in 2014, where I now reside. In 2003, I earned my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification. During my tenure with Lincoln, I have been committee chair of NPI’s Qualified Plans Committee, and a specialist within our Business Intelligence Institute (BII), Lincoln Executive Consulting (LEC), and The Resource Group (TRG) Retirement Plan Services (RPS) groups. I value being a trusted partner and leader within NPI for consistently delivering Lincoln's philosophy “Serve First, Last, and Always” to our Financial Professionals in the field. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, volunteer/community work, traveling, and various outdoor activities.
